Travelers can book tickets online through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website or app. Passengers who book tickets are given waiting (WL), RAC (reservation against cancellation) and confirmed (full berth) status.
When the ticket is booked successfully, an SMS is sent to the customer, containing the PNR (Passenger Name Record), ticket status and fare details. A maximum of six tickets can be booked by a person in a month through the IRCTC website or app. However, personal users can increase it to 12 tickets, meaning they can book 12 tickets. Explain that the account is verified through Aadhaar ID.

Step 1: Visit the official e-ticketing website of IRCTC – irctc.co.in
Step 2: Enter ‘User ID’ and Password
Step 3: Go to ‘My Profile Tab’ and click on ‘Aadhaar KYC’
Step 4: Add Aadhaar number and choose OTP option, OTP will be registered on registered mobile number
Step 5: Enter OTP and click on ‘Verify’ option
Step 6: Now click on submit. After this, the Aadhaar number has to be verified

After verification, you will see ‘verified’.
