Apple AirPods Pro features and specifications
The new wireless earbuds have an in-ear design and still come in White colour like the standard AirPods earbuds. It also carries forward the extended microphone stem design. As widely rumoured, the new audio devices come with Active Noise Cancellation feature and a special ‘Transparency mode’ with an outward-facing microphone to let users hear the noise coming from outside when required.
Apple AirPods Pro comes with three silicone tip sizes – Large, Medium and Small. The company claims that the ear tips conform to the ear shape for a secure fit. The unwanted audio coming from outside is cut from Apple’s ‘anti-noise’. This also removes the unwanted noise from inside the ear. Also mentioned is that the Active Noise Cancellation is adjusted 200 times per second for better audio output.
Users can simply press and hold the force sensor on the stem to disable Active Noise Cancellation to hear outside noise. The feature enables as soon as they leave the stem. You can also control calls using the stem. There’s an Adaptive Equaliser as well that auto-tunes the music based on the shape of the ear.
The bass level is taken care by a custom-built high-excursion, low-distortion driver. The inward-facing microphone tunes the mid and low frequencies automatically. Powered by H1 chip, the AirPods Pro also has an amplifier to remove the background noise. The high dynamic range amplifier is responsible for clear audio while extending the battery life.
The earbuds give you access to Siri and have 10 audio cores for low latency. It is IPx4 rated, which makes it resistant to sweat and water. There’s also a wireless charging case that aims to deliver up to 24 hours of battery life. The earbuds deliver up to 4.5 hours of listening time on one charge and up to 1 hour worth of juice in 5 minutes of charging.
