The news of Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus venturing into TV lineup has been known for a while now and it seems that the launch of the new product category is imminent.
A fresh certification from Bluetooth SIG — the organisation that certifies Bluetooth devices — of the OnePlus remote control with the RC-001A has been spotted online. As per the listing, the remote offers Bluetooth v4.2 support.
Last year in September, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau revealed that company’s plan to launch a smartTV. He announced that the OnePlus TV will debut with “premium, flagship TV.”
Talking about the potential of the company’s plans for the TV market, Lau said that today the centre is the smartphone, but the company will soon add a television using the same method. He further added that it will be a TV that can communicate with the phone without any barrier forming a single true ecosystem. The company also started a campaign back then asking OnePlus fans to suggest official name to the first TV product from the company.
Despite all the developments, there is no final word on the launch date of the OnePlus TV. Meanwhile, the company had launched its 2019 flagship smartphones — OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro — in May in India. This was the first time that the company unveiled two smartphones at the same time. While the OnePlus 7 comes at a starting price of Rs 32,999, the OnePlus 7 Pro starts at Rs 48,999. Both handsets comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The two handsets are available on both Amazon India website and OnePlus online store.
Now, two months after the launch, the company is going to make available a new colour variant — Mirror Blue — of the OnePlus 7 smartphone in India. The OnePlus 7 Mirror Blue will be available during Amazon Prime Day sale in India on July 15 starting 12AM for Amazon Prime members. The Mirror Blue option will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage at a price of Rs 32,999.
